For families with school-aged children or teens who have lost a loved one, Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care offers Camp Carousel. The free camp open to the community includes activities for children and parents or guardians. Families can have a therapeutic weekend together and spend time with others who have experienced similar losses.
Camp Carousel offers a mix of fun, recreational activities and structured creative opportunities to foster sharing and healing. The camp experience is designed for families who are several months past their loss at the time of camp.
It features small group settings with trained professional staff, individual attention if desired, and opportunities for families to spend quality time together. Parents and guardians can learn more about parenting children who are grieving and communication.

- Art projects
- Games
- Campfire
- Songs
- Skits
- Hikes
- Quiet time
